GIRIBOY - '100 YEARS COLLEGE COURSE' ALBUM RELEASE INTERVIEW (2019)

Full interview translation under the cut.

Q: And now that you’ve released your 6th album. How do you feel?

GIRIBOY | Even as I thought like, ‘wow it’s already the 6th album!’, I want to quickly create and show everyone my next album.

 Q: Introduce your album!

GIRIBOY | Regarding '100 Year College Course', when I thought about living for 100 years, I wanted to express all the life stories that we could experience during that lifetime. Rather than just showing that one emotion that you feel in your life, I wanted to showcase a variety of emotions.

Q: What kind of song is your title track ‘Towkio (feat. youra)’?

GIRIBOY | ‘Towkio’ is a fun song that was borne out of a wordplay - let’s escape to Tokyo. I tried to relieve the feeling of wanting to escape from daily life through a light wordplay.

Q: What kind of song is your other title track, ‘I'm Sick’?

GIRIBOY | I wanted a make a song together with my friends. While the focus is on saying things like ‘we’re the best!’, as a hiphop group song it also mixes in a variety of emotions. While upbeat, it’s also a sad and emotional song.

Q: Introduce the other b-sides on this album!

GIRIBOY | I tried to express the saddest situation between a boy & girl through ‘Bitter Words’. Compared to the other songs, the sad emotions came out better in it. People around me like ‘The End’ the most.

Q: Which song does Giriboy like the most on this album?

GIRIBOY | This may sound really obvious but they’re all songs that I feel very attached to. Many people made them together with me, and the songs are all full of different emotions and style so I can’t pick one.

Q: Who would you like to recommend Giriboy’s ‘100 Years College Course’ album to?

GIRIBOY | Since it’s about ‘100 years’ right, I think it’d be great if everyone from 1 years old to 100 years old could listen to and enjoy this album together!
